Born in 1970 in Böblingen and raised in the Black Forest, I first studied law in Erlangen and then in Freiburg.
Subsequently, I spent a year studying at the Universita per Straniere in Siena, focusing on language and cultural studies. Following this, I specialized in sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Carrara, Italy.
Later, after a semester as a guest student and artistic assistance at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, I established my own studio, "Atelier von Podewils," in 2007.
